I became a vegetarian when I left home at 18. I became a serious student of nutrition when I decided to raise my sons as vegetarians. My son, Phil, encouraged me to become vegan. Isn’t that amazing!?
These interactive classes began when I wanted to find more plant based recipes. Soon my kitchen was too small for the number of people who wanted to join. Now I use Just Be Center’s kitchen for my group classes. I provide the ingredients and recipes and we all prepare the dishes. We all share our experience and sit down to eat. We can also have a private session in your own home.
Our Vegan cooking classes are held at Just Be Holistic Center. We start with a 10-minute presentation on vegan cooking followed by 60-minute interactive cooking session in our fully equipped kitchen. All food is organic and you receive all the recipes by email along with photos.
Group size is limited to 10. Visit my events page to view the full schedule!
When I became a yoga teacher in 2010 while working full time for Microsoft, I dreamt of a yoga festival that not only offered great classes but also healthy food and sustainable products and was FREE and open to anyone. It had to be in a beautiful outdoor setting and accessible by public transport.
Yogafest Dubai was born on 21st December 2010 and today welcomes over 5000 guests to over 150 classes in 7 themed tents with wellness and sustainability at our core. In 2013 we started raising funds for charity and have since raised over AED 250,000 for children’s charities around the MEA region.
We plan to launch Yogafest Bahrain in 2018 and Saudi Arabia will be next.
From November to May we meet by the lake in the late afternoon to offer yoga and meditation as the full moon rises. With over 500 participants, these sessions are for anyone who wants to practise yoga with the grass beneath their feet and the sound of birds in their ears and watch the full moon rise of the skyline of Dubai.
I get it, fashion and yoga have become best friends. But how about donating your much-loved but no longer wanted yoga wear so we can sell them and buy water filters for families in rural Uganda? Sweet right? I launched PreLoved Yogawear in 2016 to do just this. You can contact me to drop off your items, bring them to one of my events, or take it to one of our participating studios.
