About Elaine

Health and fitness has been my passion since I was a young girl.  I was a Jane Fonda fan doing her workouts every morning as a teenager and when I left home at 18, I turned vegetarian.  To make extra money I became an aerobic instructor at university.  I discovered yoga at the same time and it felt so calming.

Moving to Dubai in 1994 with two small children I taught aerobics and aqua fit along with pre and post natal fitness.  I became abody pump and body balance instructor in 2007 and this led me to wanting to teach yoga. Working full time for Microsoft at the time, I did my teacher training on the weekends.

In 2010 after certifying as a yoga teacher, I created the largest wellness festival in the region, Yogafest, which brings more than 5000 participants together to support great causes in the beautiful grounds of Dubai Internet city.  I love organizing yoga events, retreats, corporate and workplace wellness programmes.  In 2014 I was invited to opened the first eco-friendly yoga studio in the region, Eco Yoga Sanctuary which enabled me to combine by passion for sustainability and yoga.

I teach outdoors from November to May allowing you to benefit from fresh air whether on the beach or in my garden studio.  I completed her 300 Advanced Teacher training of Therapeutic yoga in 2016 and now work with special groups and individuals with chronic conditions like cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease using the tools of yoga.

I am a Goodwill Ambassador for Gulf4Good having completed 11 challenges since 2003 and have personally led group yoga retreats to Bhutan, Tanzania, Morocco, Maldives, Romania and Austria.
